Jane Fleishman, Ph.D., from Northampton, MA, is a mom, sexuality educator and consultant with more than 30 years’ experience as a teacher, trainer, and program evaluator. She travels the country leading pre-conference seminars and workshops for professionals and scholars, community centers for queer youth, continuing care communities for aging adults and their caregivers, and for teachers, parents, and young people. For her Ph.D. dissertation, she assessed the sexual satisfaction of aging adults in same-sex relationships. Jane serves on the Leadership Team for the Sexuality and Aging Consortium at Widener University, and she is the Eastern Region Representative for the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), and she is a co-founder of the Western Massachusetts Chapter of Bend the Arc, a progressive Jewish social justice organization. She presents on topics such as healthy sexuality for clinician s who work with adolescents with sexual behavior problems, the intersections of privilege and sexuality, and she has conducted evaluation and organizational change programs for a wide variety of social change groups. Recently, she conducted a training in Iceland and New Zealand with her partner, Joan Tabachnick, on the continuum of sexuality from the prevention of sexual violence to healthy sexual relationships. In 2000, Jane received Governor’s Service Award in Healing of Racism, in 2015, a Graduate Scholar Award from the Aging and Society Knowledge Community, and in 2016, she received the William R. Stayton Leadership Award from the Center for Human Sexuality Studies at Widener University.
